A Little Bit About Me
Salaam/hello...

I decided, or rather my niece decided, that it was time I should settle down and hence the profile. I had deactivated my profile for a while and then reactivated it several months back.

In terms of describing myself, I could say I am all manner of things that will entice the reader to contact me but descriptions and words do not make a person and are subjective but if I am to avoid doing myself a disservice then I must sell myself. I am self-deprecatory by nature so this is a challenge...

I am one of several siblings and an aunt to lots of nephews and nieces whom I love dearly. I am single, never been married, and respected the trust and faith my parents placed in me.

I don't live at home because of work and as such I have to had fend for myself and gained a degree of independence. But I am very close to my parents and family and visit home regularly, not least for my mother's biryani.

I enjoy travel, art, mountains, geology, music, Montezuma's chocolate, and books. I love the outdoors but growing to enjoy the gym too.

I pray salat regularly (although fajr is always a challenge), I did hajj with my parents (but I don't wear the hijab and unlikely to), I am strict when it comes to eating halal and I don't drink/smoke/go clubbing. Having said that, most of my friends aren't Muslim and my attire mostly consists of suits/jeans.

What I Am Looking For
My ideal? Not an easy one to answer and I don't like putting people into boxes.

Basic requirements: intelligent, professional, sense of humour, ability to laugh at yourself and not take life too seriously, and not a chauvinist. The rest will unfold with time.

In an ideal world I would like my other half to have a similar past but that's not very realistic and I have to accept that most people will have a past. If you have moved on from your past and are looking to the future then drop me an email. If you are still living in your past then you are not for me. I should be gracious and be a bigger person and say that I would be happy to consider somebody with children but I do not believe I can be that magnanimous. So if you have children then I'm sorry but I do not think we are going to be suited.

ps - if I do not feel we are suited and I express this to be the case then please do not take offence. Whilst rejection is always personal we are here looking for marriage which is a long term commitment both parties need to buy into.
